Entering the magical world of Harry Potter

Never mind that the voice-overs on all the rides were in Japanese or that the hallways were too crowded, there wasn't room to swing a Kneazle.  We were in Hogwarts!  HOGWARTS!!!

Okay, Koryn, hold your hippogriffs.

Sorry for being overexcited but any Potterhead would go bollocks upon entering the School of Witchcraft and Wizardy.  Even if it's only a replica.

The first time I went to Osaka, Japan in 2013,  there was no Wizarding World of Harry Potter inside Universal Studios Japan (USJ) yet.  It only opened in 2014.  So when my family and I decided to go to Osaka last year, there was no question: We were going to USJ!

Prior to the trip, we purchased a Universal Express Pass.  This shortens your waiting time for the popular attractions.  And we were right to do so! When we arrived, the queue was soooooo long!   But our Express Pass transported us in faster than floo powder and before we knew it, we were walking through the Forbidden Forrest.

Merlin's beard!  Hagrid would have a fit if he saw students wandering in the Forbidden Forrest.
Before going around, we decided to go on our first adventure for the day:  the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey 4D ride.  We were asked to leave our things in the locker area and we couldn't take photos during the ride (Why would anyone?!) but, blimey, it felt so real I thought we were gonna get fried by that Hungarian Horntail.

And since being chased by dragons and dementors was so exhausting, we decided to get some refreshments after.

And yes, butterbeer does taste a little like less-sickly butterscotch ;)

After downing our foaming cups of butterbeer, we went around to explore the rest of Hogwarts and Hogsmeade.

The Hogwarts Express.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Ollivander's Wand Shop.

Curious...Very curious.  (L) The boyfriend getting his first wand from Ollivanders; (R) Getting sorted by the Sorting Hat!
Three Broomsticks.
 Sirius Black on the loose.

The Owl Post.
Zonko's Joke Shop.  Fancy some Stink Pellets or interested in adopting a Pygmy Puff?

And of course, the best way to explore the magical world of Harry Potter is with fellow Potterheads!

Mischief managed.  The Marauder's Map has been confiscated by Professor Lupin so we've decided to rely on GPS instead hahaha.
